Elaine Buckland


My name is Elaine Buckland and I am a vocal and performance practitioner. At present, I teach vocal studies for Wolverhampton university where I also lead their ensemble module, teach one to one lessons and am dissertation supervisor on the BA Musical theatre course. (vocal).

I was the Musical Director for the Grand Theatre in Wolverhampton for eight years working on many educational projects. I was also the choir leader for both their junior and adult choirs for five years, working with many professional West End productions.

I have taught vocal studies on BTEC performing arts courses, foundation degree drama and BA Musical theatre studies at many comprehensive schools, academies and universities throughout the West Midlands and Shropshire.

I also play piano and classical/acoustic guitar.

I have a Master’s degree in Practising Theatre and Performance, I have a vocal teaching qualification with the Royal College of Music and am at present studying a doctorate in vocal/performance studies.

I am a member of Equity, the General teaching council and the British Voice Association.

Before entering teaching, I worked as a professional singer and performer touring the worlds cabaret and theatre venue’s. I have worked with many recognised artists over the years, including  Mylene Class, Craig David, Tommy Steel, Peter Kaye, Barbra Dickson, and Tony Christie.
