Rhian Jackson

Hey there!

I am Rhian (Ree Ree) and I can't wait to meet you all at Ready Steady Dance.

I am incredibly proud to be part of the amazing team.

I started my performing journey from the young age of five, when my mum was called into school thinking I had been misbehaving (probably talking too much), but in fact the teacher said that I did not stop moving and showed that I had rhythm so my mum signed me up to 'Pat Taylors Dance School' in Shrewsbury. For years I trained in Ballroom, American Latin and Freestyle dance. I worked towards exams and competed all over the UK.

When I was sixteen I found my love for singing and musical theatre and decided to train in this field through college and university. After graduating with a First Class Degree with Honours in Musical Theatre at Buckinghamshire University, I was lucky enough to travel the world, performing and working for a company called The Entertainment Department where I became Entertainment Manager.

In addition to performing, I also became a presenter and fell in love with entertaining children and encouraging them to come up to the stage to compete in challenges and showcase their talent.

When I returned to the UK I toured with The Sooty Show for a little while where I saw first hand the magical effect theatre has on children and their families. I wanted to share a little bit of this magic and so Ready Steady Show was born. I wanted to create a safe, nurturing space where children could develop their performance skills and get their chance to SHINE.

I have performed in many productions with a number of community theatre groups and some of my favourite roles were 'Poppy' in Pirates and Princesses, 'Doralee' in 9 to 5 the Musical, 'Elle Woods' in Legally Blonde, and 'Rusty' in Footloose.

I also manage and sing in a vocal trio called 'The Retro Roses'

Since opening Ready Steady Show in 2017, I have watched pupils grow in confidence, pass performance exams with flying colours, and perform in our many showcases and productions. I became the singing teacher at LPA Shrewsbury in 2017 and have loved working with Lizzie E, Lizzie R and Holly. I am priveldged to help at Ready Steady Dance and can't wait to get started.

I truly believe that you can create your own opportunities and, through hard work and determination you can reach your goals. I hope to create performance opportunities for all of our pupils at Ready Steady Dance.

See you all in April!
